Late Monday morning, an explosion occurred at the ONEOK plant in Mont Belvieu, TX, sending emergency workers rushing to the scene. The blast occurred at approximately 11 a.m. at the plant off State Highway 146. The Mont Belvieu Fire Department and Police Department arrived soon after to help contain the fire and provide emergency assistance.

Aerial footage from KHOU-TV revealed heavy damage to the plant. Local officials confirmed three workers were injured in the incident and received medical care.

The company that owns and operates the facility, ONEOK, issued a statement that safety is a priority and that they are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the explosion. While operations at the plant have since stabilized, questions remain about whether proper safety measures were in place.
